Sun Valley

The history of Sun Valley extends as far back as 10,000 years ago where the Shoshone, Bannock, & Lehi tribes made home. For years, these tribes made this beautiful valley their home. It wasn’t until the 1870s when gold was discovered did settlers from the East make their way to Sun Valley. Eventually the gold boom slowed, and the town was merely a ghost town of 100 people. Then Count Felix Schaffgosh stumbled across this diamond in the rut and pronounced it was one of the best looking potential ski towns between the U.S. and Europe. It was not even a year after Schaffgosh spotted this town and he had opened the floodgates to the resort town you’ll see now.
